4 months old

Isaac is four months old and has a new friend. Here they are getting ready to go for a ride in the car. Everyone needs friends and this one is just the right size.

back from Michigan

We got back from our trip on Monday evening. We had a great time and are happy to be home. Here are some pictures from the great journey.


Our first stop was Chicago to see Aunt Carolyn. Isaac's smile is evidence of how happy we all were to be out of the car.

Isaac frequently has his tongue out. He's a little bit like a lizard in that way. I decided to join him and the air tasted just fine.

Here he is having some quiet lounge time. I can't tell you how much he looks like my sister in this picture.

And here he is living it up with Aunt Carolyn.

While in Chicago, we went to Oak Park and looked at some Frank Lloyd Wright houses. While on our walk Isaac began the work of finding his hands and putting them in his mouth. This is currently his favorite move.

After a couple days in Chicago we went on to Michigan. It was here that Isaac was reunited with Grandma Banner..."Oh Grandma, how I love thee and could look into thine eyes forever."

Isaac was not the only cutie pie on hand. Here is Cousin P trying out the hose.

Here's Little G on her way. She dashes around quite a bit.

Here's her little sister. So cute. I didn't manage to get a picture of our oldest niece whom we adore, but she's a cutie too.

Those three girls belong to this lady. She's the kind of sister-in-law you hope comes with the family you marry into.

Isaac thinks she's pretty rad.

on our way

Tomorrow our little family will hop in the car and head east. We've been making last minute preparations for our trip and running lots of errands. Today we made an important stop to pick up 'floaties' to use during our time at Lake Michigan. What's interesting is we purchased two intertube-chairs instead of one. We didn't give it much thought at the time but it kind of implies we'll both be out on the water at the same time? Are we thinking some kind family member will watch our son for a few moments while we frolic carelessly in the water? I guess it does... oh, to dream. And I know with this family, sometimes, dreams come true.

And speaking of dreaming...
While we have been busily washing, packing, cleaning, Isaac has been undertaking preparations of his own. He's resting up for the big drive tomorrow. Good job little guy, nice to see you doing your part.
