pictures from... the car
We went on a trip over Thanksgiving break and I have very few pictures to post. I always start out strong, with great expectations for taking pictures of every glorious moment. But sometime during the 9 hour car ride I run out of steam and our camera runs out of battery power. Here are some car pictures.

a day in the life
Isaac made a childcare change earlier this month. He's spending his days with a five month old girl (so cute) and her mom. She sometimes sends pictures from their adventures.
Today was a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day. The crew went out for a bike ride and stopped by to see the cousins.

One of the little cousins is a big Isaac fan.
Isaac also had some good eats for lunch. Looks like peas to me.

Now that we know our camera takes video and that they're so easy to post.... there will be more and hopefully of better quality (with less mommy and daddy noise). But here he is. Carl can really get him going.

to Indiana and back again
We took a trip to South Bend last weekend. We went to celebrate an important birthday and had a very nice cake, I mean time.
Our journey began with Isaac's first flight. We left the city around 8:00 and Isaac was still awake and in good spirits.
Here we are waiting at the gate to board our flight.
Isaac fell asleep shortly after we got settled and slept for the duration of the flight.
Once in South Bend, Isaac met new admirers including the fabulous Aunt B.
He also had some time with old friends. Cousin G. is always there to lend a finger.
And the aunts are always happy to hold him.. when I'm willing to give him up for a bit.
On Sunday we went for breakfast and then stopped at a coffee shop before heading to the airport.

Grandma B. dropped us at the airport and came in to say goodbye. She gave Isaac kisses to tide him over until next time. Hopefully, next time won't be too long from now.

quick weekend update
Isaac is a sweet and amazing little boy. He's doing some new things.
Here he is sitting. He doesn't stay up for long ...but he's getting better everyday.
Here he is sucking his thumb and being cute.
Bath time in the sink.
Reading before bed.
Our time is becoming more and more precious and Isaac is becoming more of a big boy each day. I'll keep trying to post pictures so you can watch our little guy grow.

week in review
Going back to work has been a challenge for me. Those first days seemed impossible ...so I resigned on Wednesday...only to reconsider on Thursday and ask for my job back (long story).
Now I feel like I'm ready to make it work - or at least give it a good try.
Isaac seems to be weathering the change pretty well. Here are some pictures from the past week or so.
Carl and I marked our first wedding anniversary on the 25th of August. The 25th was my first day back at work so we celebrated on the 24th with a trip to the State Fair. Isaac enjoyed the stroll while we enjoyed the fair food.

Isaac continues to enjoy solids. He's had rice cereal, banana, and peaches.

Sadie is also enjoying Isaac's experience with solids. He's a strong little guy and has been known to swat at dishes and send them flying.
Here are the guys hanging out on the weekend. We love those lazy mornings.

And here's Isaac playing on the kitchen floor while dinner was being made.
Hopefully the next week will be full of smiles just like this one
