We spent Memorial Day weekend at my family's cabin on Bad Axe Lake. It's a four hour drive from the city and even with our stops we made it in under five hours. The weather was pretty nice, especially in the late afternoons when the sun was high over the lake.

Growing up, I spent part of each summer at the lake. It's fun to be able to share this place with my guys.

We spent a lot of time resting, reading, and eating lots of yummy food cooked up by Chef Carl. We also had time for some lovely chats.

Here Isaac is telling me not to worry so much.

Here are Isaac and Carl by the lake.

Oops. We're gonna have to read the directions on that hat one more time.

Here are a couple of Isaac lounging in the cabin. We've found a new use for the boppy. If you set it on a counter or table top Isaac will recline happily for quite a long time. It helps if there's an interesting fan or light fixture overhead.

And here is the one who enjoyed the trip the most. Sadie was the only one brave enough to get in the water. Which she did again, and again, and again. She felt it her duty to rescue every small branch and twig from the water. She brought each one to shore and then chewed it to pieces.
